It's been ages since I've seen and played this in the arcade but I use to in the mid 90s. I know it's from the 80s but I grew up in the 90s and remember this game as well as Off Road, both 3 player and used steering wheel.
"Actually Super Sprint has 3 wheels, Champion Sprint has 2."
The wheel does help compared to controller. I've just had a ton of practice playing this game in other compilations as well as its sequel "BadLands" on Midway Treasures 3.
Though you did give me a challenge. I was rusty. It took 5 or 6 tries to get passed the 3rd stage.
And upgrading the car just makes it even more squirrely.
The difficulty curve is intense, first 2 stages are easy than it just goes nuts. It's designed for the player to continue and upgrade the car to keep playing.
Trying to get far on a single credit is intense.

Heck yea, I see you got MAT2! Great score! I could never really master this one bc the controls are so squirrley for me. So props to ya! I may try again here soon but this one is not my game without a steering wheel lol

I have a higher score selecting the medium track, "can be seen on score table" but I want to be fair to the other player so I chose easy too "from the beginning with no free wrench"
