So it is actually a little software than lets you select 50 or 60hz. It is not PAL or NTSC convertor as then you need to replace crystal etc.
It does work on my PAL ST. When selecting 60hz on the menu, the screen is bigger, less black border and some speed improvement. Of course, it depends with the game. But those cracker compilations usually work well.

GFX are really good. But just a tad too slow. Maybe in 60hz it would be better. But for that I need to find the game on a crackers menu compilation disk, like the Medway Boys. They usually give you the possibility to start the games in 60hz.

Try the TOSEC archive on archive.org and launch them via your Gotek replacement disk drive.
I've got an STE too. But didn't want to open it to install the Gotek drive as with the 1040STf I already prepped that one. No much STE games too.
Also not much homebrews on the ST are made recently.
