On a Flashback console it's really hard to see whether the difficulty buttons are pressed or released. Expert/A setting is best shown by the gameplay where the girders are not flashing to indicate a direction change making it harder (also see special rules). Alternatively see game Video Pinball in the beginning (gaps at bottom of table indicate Expert/A where no gaps would be easier=Novice/B).
