Play the game in 1 player mode with default settings. A note on difficulties: the NA version calls the difficulties "Normal", "Difficult", and "Expert". The JP version calls them やさしい (Easy), ふつう (Normal), and むずかしい (Difficult). Honestly, the JP descriptors are more accurate; the easiest difficulty removes several mechanics and all of the unique enemies, so the NA "Difficult" aka JP "Normal" difficulty is required for progression. Beating the game once unlocks Expert difficulty and, amusingly, removes the easiest difficulty from the menu so you can't play it anymore without a password. |
