Yes, definitely. I love the ultra-niche sub-subgenre (there must be four or five games like that across all platforms) of “silly little thing forced by auto-scrolling to descend into the abyss without killing itself.”

Down! is an endless runner for the Commodore PET. Perhaps it is better to say it is an endless descender. The game was released by Revival Studios in 2013, and featured a physical release on tape as well as digital download. The game is also available for the VIC-20, Sinclair ZX81 and Videopac/Odyssey2.

In this game you are fleeing into caves after your village comes under attack. The cave consists of flat levels with holes, and you have to drop through to survive. Every time you are on one of the flat surfaces that scrolls ever upwards, you are pushed towards the top of the screen with it. If your character hits the top of the screen, it is Game Over! As time passes, the levels speed up and being able to drop down to the next level gets increasingly difficult. Occasional dollar signs appear which can be picked up for extra points. Dropping through each level score one point and dollars are worth ten points.

This one is entertaining! Games will be short, as the levels speed up quite quickly, so it is an ideal quick-play for busy people short of time to invest in larger games. It is a small and simple game for sure, but technically very well done. If you want to try it you can find it on Revival Studios itch.io page here:

This run was made on the 7th February 2026 using the VICE emulator on PC. There are no options in the game, just start and keep looking for the holes. The final score was 87 points.

00:54 First dollar sign.
01:48 Game Over! Final score 87 points.
