Space Invaders for the BBC Micro is a version of the OG fixed shooter released in 2017 by Richard 'Tricky' Broadhurst. Another almost perfect port, this time of the 1978 Taito game that along with Pacman made the arcades legendary places to be.
Space Invaders needs no explanation. This version is almost certainly the most accurate implementation for the BBC Micro. You even get the little alien correcting the letter 'Y' being the wrong way round on the title screen. Graphics, sound and playability are all spot on, but you wouldn't have expected anything less from Trickysoft!
This run was made on the 22nd November 2025. The emulator was an online one, built into a website. I wanted to give it a try and it works well in Chrome. There are no user changeable settings and the score reached was 2,380 points.
