I warmly recommend you to try some of those mentioned platforms (Spectrum,C64 or Amiga), there are over 10,000 titles/games for first two mentioned and over 5,000 for Amiga so you can surely find something suitable to play! If you ever need any help about emulators, roms you can freely contact me here or at my FB account : Aleksandar Djuriฤiฤ‡ and I will give my best to help you out...

๐Ÿ‘Œ ๐Ÿ‘ & great to know !

I haven't played or seen in person any of those home computers !
So I have alot to catch up on.

In America from my perspective it was all Atari, then Nintendo, then Sega, then Sony. And I didn't learn of most other systems or computers until I got internet and learned about so much I had missed out on.

Most of my friends had internet by the mid 90s and I was jealous but my family eventually got it in 2001. I recall since we had just moved and had just got a Windows 98 Compaq desktop computer. : )

Firstly, thank you very much for voting!
I have never been an expert at Qix but for last few days I've been tried few variations of this amazing game and NES version suits me the most! I have understand that you can get even 50K for a stage(level) but I am not so experienced at this game so I stick to simple tactics:... NES was almost unkown for me (and this part of Europe) back in the 80's, Sinclair ZX Spectrum; Commodore C64 and Commodore Amiga lately were most popular in Serbia in that era... Lately in th mid-80's I had chance to meet SEGA MEGA DRIVE console, but not NES and SNES consoles... So after all those years I finally discover (via emulators) hundreds of brilliant games for these consoles!!! Once again thanx for sharing your experiences with me!!! As far as for NES emulator I suggest you MESEN emulator (latest version 2.1.1) and it's capable to emulate smoothly : NES,SNES,GB,GBA,PC ENGINE,SMS,WONDER SWAN.It's very ease for use and all you need is ROMS so you can start playing right away!!!

Coolio.
After seeing your play I decided to download an NES emulator for the first time! I knew eventually something would push me to get it.
With Qix being my first rom.

If you like Cheq Qut My Play For Some QIXing tips.

Instead of filling the outside inwards with big blocks, I try to draw my own walls from the center using thin strips,.. and then at the very last small line I use the slow button to fill in the majority of space with higher points. This way you can up the score by alot, getting close to 50,000 on the first stage ๐Ÿ˜‰.

This is a tough version so i eventually go back to the normal way of play as it gets really tough.

Thanks for playing and inspiring me to get an NES emulator! Been ages since I had an NES. Back in the early 90s. We called it "Regular Nintendo" ... since the Super was also out.
