Bootskell is another eighties-style arcade game from Inufuto. This version is for the Oric 48K and was released in September 2022. The program was written by Inufuto as part of a multiplatform project that uses a common format for producing the games and a machine specific interpreter/library for making the main program run on that specific machine.
This game is based on Pengo. You have to push blocks around, hopefully crushing the ghosts that share the screen with you. At the same time, they are trying to do the same to you - and they are quite good at it! The ghosts can destroy blocks quite quickly, though there are a few blocks around that are indestructible.
If you know Pengo, then you will be at home with this game. It's not a bad version either, definitely not the best, but then no other version or clone ran on almost every 8-bit ever created!
This run was made on the 30th June 2025 using the Oricutron emulator on PC. There are no adjustable skill levels and the final score was 1,050.
