You're lucky, we have a ressurgence of arcades around here but... it's not really like that. Most of the times it's an emulator. Enjoy, if you make a big score I doubt there will be many players to compete on the originals !

Talk about Galaga. Just today I ventured to a bowling alley arcade Lisle Lanes and they have an original Galaga from 1981. That one only charges 1 quarter. 😉. Was cool to find the original still working.
I posted that score just a few hours ago.

Yep 2 quarters.
This specific machine came out in 2001. The "Class of 81" Ms Pac/Galaga combo.
I'm sure it's made it's money back.
I think it's been here in this hot dog joint the entire time "Tony Steamers", there use to be a Cruisin World next to it, but I still come here just to play Galaga, Ms. Pacman, and the original Pacman that can be unlocked with a code.
Great stuff. Works perfect, and the volume is turned up loud as well which is a plus.

And it still operates with coins ?! It must have paid for itself since its release.

Heck yea it is.
And with this turbo code you get a longer game for your money, since it's easier to stay alive with the extra fire power.
Thanks to lvlup for the variations/info. I wouldn't have known.

Turbo mode code entered.
Turbo is faster bullets which made it easier to surpass my standard score.
Lots of fun!
Today I saw the high score table for the first time. Those glitched scores look wild. I'm glad I was able to get a legible score on the table : )
If I unplug the game it might fix the glitchy scores, but it's the only game at this joint and I don't want to be the weirdo unplugging the game.
But hey seems to work even if the scores are a mystery.
Pac and Ms Pac aren't effected, so it's clearly a space virus.
