2048 is a puzzle game for the BBC Microcomputer written by Eben Upton. It was released by the Raspberry Pi Foundation in 2014 as part of a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the creation of BASIC. You can read more about this game here:

The game is a sliding puzzle game. You have to join numbers that are the same to make double the number. You score based on the numbers on the tile. If the screen fills up and you cannot move it is game over. You control the blocks moving up, down, left or right with the cursor keys.
I know puzzle games are not for everyone, but I recommend giving this a go. It's unbelievably addictive and you keep thinking "Just One More Go.......". Even the most hardened of arcade players could get drawn into this incredibly simple yet absorbing game.
This run was made on the 14th April 2024 using the Pantheon emulator on PC. The score reached was 6,904 points. The game has no user-adjustable settings.
