Thanks. It's strange how comfortable I felt with the emulator's keyboard controls and even the jumps (which used to be really scary on the real C64 and joystick) were easy to do. Having played it through with unlimited lives back in the early 90s helped also and I didn't need to consult any walkthroughs or videos.
I'd recommend anyone interested in C64 games in having a go at this (I prefer the original Last Ninja 2, though, because of the music).

I never had the spirit and endurance to even play for an hour on those Last Ninja games. I totally hated the isometric control system. After trying to get over the water, I removed the floppy and never put it back in.

A rather unnecessary remix of Last Ninja 2. Adds a short intro, different music, and a colored inventory/life bars/ninja's mug. Gameplay is exactly the same as Last Ninja 2. Getting to level 6 without dying had me hoping for a clean run, but then managed to miss the drop into the roof window and later died once more. At least I nailed the big baddie on the first try.
