Cosmonaut! is an arcade-platform game released by Melbourne House for the VIC-20 in 1983. It was written by Clifford Ramshaw and runs on the unexpanded VIC.

The game is a relatively simple platform game, where you have to take your cosmonaut from the top of the screen to the bottom, while avoiding the various enemies on the levels. Once at the bottom, you have to switch off the tractor beam, then make your way back up the screen to your ship to escape.

I didn't get far with this one. I found the gameplay too jerky and difficult to want to keep going. Back at the time of release, you would have stuck with this for longer than I did, but in 2024, I didn't have either the patience or fun with it to invest the time. Still, not too bad for 3.5K memory.

This run was made on the 24th February 2024 using the Pantheon emulator on PC. There are no skill levels and the final score was 188 points.
