the worst of all is that the dev team were talented, the pinball arcade is still the best pinball simulation out there (even the newest pinball FX is not up to in term of pure physics).
And I don't think the pinball FX team will release more "classic" pinball tables. As they rend to focus on releasing partnerships pinballs like the marvel, star wars, universal... And to be honest, I really think those could be better, remove the theme and they are completely basic, just combo ramps and nothing unique or mind blowing. I know you can't release 40 pinball tables and expect them to be THAT good, that's why I'd prefer they released less of those, and maybe take the time to make very good tables.
BUT, they surely manage to make some good money on that deal, so they could upgrade their engine and rework every table ever made on pinball FX3 so they are better now, just a shame we have to rebuy everything but work never come free ;)
And I gladly pay for the williams packs (3 tables for 5€ with the 50% preowner discount, that's not so bad), for the rest, I'll see. Their newest tables on Pinball FX seems fine but the price is high between 7 and 15€ for ONE pinball table, but I guess it's again some licensing stuff happening behind the scene, like Kong VS Godzilla table is the most expensive for now, it looks very cool but 15€ is a lot of money.

I think the worst is beting all your money on a single project, knowing that if you don't sell enough copies, you will go bankrupt. I clearly can't understand what happened here. I can feel the passion and the love for this pinball machine (The Addams Family is really great), but still, having another pinball would have been just fine (Data East Batman for example, or maybe the old Superman pinball which is also very nice but not so known)

Such a level of amateurism on their part that I simply have no words for such a thing!!
I can't believe they didn't consult (on the copyright side) with a respectable lawyer before embarking on this fiasco, unbelievable!!!

well, that was calculated, but they only counted the costs asked by the pinball manufacturer, they forgot all the copyrights for sounds and art (the owner of the rights for the character of Morticia Addams asked so much money it was almost ridiculous for an example, the music copyrights were also separated from the main pinball machine)

And you're right, that's why we don't have real pinball in videogames since decades, because all these costs way too much and as usual, you have to renew the rights to use all this now and then. A real black hole for money.

They should have first calculated and planned all possible costs before starting the project, when they already embarked on that adventure it was too late... It's a shame, really a shame because this was a unique case in pinball emulation!!! After all this, and the experiences from this project, I doubt that anyone will try anything similar in the foreseeable future...😥😥😥

stopped because of bad management and because they wanted to please fans despite not having the money for some tables.
The Addams Family killed The Pinball Arcade, many people seems to want this table but the costs for reproduction were astonishing. They launched a kickstarter and that cover what the pinball manufacturer asks, but soon enough, every people involved in this pinball came and ask for money (actor voices for examples had to be paid individually, at crazy costs), as the project were almost started and they can't cancel everything due to the money involved, they decide to raise the final price of this table to cover their costs, believing people will buy it anyway, but it was not the case, they lose so much money the studio was done but they carry on, releasing only minor tables almost nobody ever heard about to fill the latest pinball season (each DLC you bought contained 10 tables if I remember well, but Addams Family had to be bought separatly, kind of "off-season" table), and then suddenly die.

I agree with you it's a shame but this experience prove that you do not want to please all that your fans ask for, some project just can't be done if you don't have the prior money, don't count on sales numbers !

No problem mate!!!
The Pinball Arcade Emulator-Platform is far best realistic pinball emulator ever!!!!
It is such a shame that the project was stopped and some more of the famous pinball tables were not recreated...

Ripley's Believe It Or Not! is a pinball table released by Stern in 2004. Created by Pat Lawler, 2,750 tables were produced.

This game is based on the popular amusement franchise that deals in bizarre and unusual facts and stories. As such, the game takes you around the world in search of fresh stories and artifacts. There are several quests that are easy to access (if not complete) and this keeps the storyline rolling along at a fair pace. Although this is not the most complex table from its era, it kept me engaged.

The date of play was the 22nd December 2023. The score achieved was 60,791,680 points.

Time stamps:
00:30 Table overview.
00:32 Game start.
05:46 Ball 1 lost.
19:53 Ball 2 lost.
23:33 Ball 3 lost. Game Over!
23:50 Initials entry and confirmation of final score of 60,791,680.
24:18 High Score table.
