Cloak & Dagger is a 1984 arcade game from Atari. It was written by Russel Dawe, based on Robotron: 2084 hardware.
The aim of the game is to infiltrate an enemy base and work your way down through the various levels using the lifts. On each screen, you enter on one side and exit via the other.
Like Robotoron, you have two joysticks, one to move and one to fire. You can also set off the bomb in the level using a button to set the fuse and then you have to get out quick. It is risky, but you score a lot more points this way. Various hazards block your path - robots, minefields, explosives, tricky conveyor belts, an enormous eye and deadly pits. There is also a time limit for each level and sometimes you have to blast your way through the walls.
This run was played using the Steam version of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration on PC. The date of play was the 23rd April 2023. The final score was 35,860 points.
Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is just that, a celebration of 50 years of Atari. Although there have been many Atari game compilations over the years, this one is the best yet, lovingly put together with many documents and features within it. It's like visiting an interactive museum.
