Centipede is a 1981 shooter from Atari and one of the big early 80s arcade hits. Designed and written by Dona Bailey and Ed Logg, the player has to destroy various garden creatures - the titular Centipede, a Spider, Flea and Scorpion in a playfield of mushrooms.
This run was played using the Steam version of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration on PC. The date of play was the 10th April 2023. The final score was 13,700 points.
Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is just that, a celebration of 50 years of Atari. Although there have been many Atari game compilations over the years, this one is the best yet, lovingly put together with many documents and features within it. It's like visiting an interactive museum.
