Me too (but I was too young and I couldn't find out how to play it). This concept was truly brilliant for its time. The "Sprint subgenre" is still among my favs.

Sprint 8 is a multiplayer top-down racing game from Atari, released in 1977. It is an 8 player version of the Sprint game, also available in 2 and 4 player versions by this time. The single player Sprint 1 followed after. In 1986, a reimagining of the game was released called Super Sprint, becoming one of the most famous games in the Atari catalogue.
The race features 8 drivers and 4 tracks. Any cars not being controlled by a human are controlled by the computer (and labelled "Traffic"). You score points for driving around the track and there is a time limit in which the game plays out. The default is 2 minutes, but this could be adjusted up or down by the operator. A time-extension was granted if you scored enough points in the time limit - again this was operator adjustable.
Colliding with other cars results in you briefly losing some control, often putting you into a wall. There are no lives to lose, but you waste valuable time.
This run was played using the Steam version of Atari 50: The Annivesary Celebration on PC. My car is the red one at top-left (note the score is upside down as the cabinet was designed to be viewed from all 4 sides. The date of play was the 9th April 2023. The final score was 31.
Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is just that, a celebration of 50 years of Atari. Although there have been many Atari game compilations over the years, this one is the best yet, lovingly put together with many documents and features within it. It's like visiting an interactive museum.
Time stamps:

00:38 Game loaded.
00:43 Game options, showing Playtime at the default of 120.
01:03 Coin inserted.

03:11 Time up! Game Over. Final score 31 points.
