I am so glad to hear all those details about ORIC cause' it stays a mystery to me as computer till' nowdays....
Maybe I never recall of it again if I haven't seen your gameplay videos...
Really sad to hear that it all ends bad for ORIC as home computer who was at bad place in the bad moment...
After Speccy(I got it late 1984) then I got C64(1987) and Amiga 500 (1989) as most people back then...
And just as I thought it was home computer with good potential but it was bad moment when they released it due to Speccy at the first place with tons of games, ORIC simply has not any chance to make it...
Thank you once again for this brilliant story!!!!

Oric was the machine I grew up with and I think it only really had two problems. The Spectrum was out and popular and the Oric serial-attributes graphics system was a little tricky to learn to get the best out of it in the early days. Both these factors led to the production of early games being slower and often not as good - so the Oric fell behind and in a crowded marketplace that was fatal. But some programmers coped with it fine and todays programmers know all the techniques so we can now do a fair comparison between Oric and Spectrum. They are very close to each other in ability and I think the Oric had slightly more potential. If things had worked out differently, it could have been a great Z80 vs 6502 battle as the machines were at the the same price point, had similar specifications and the C64 and BBC were much more expensive. But it was not to be.

That's brilliant story!!! Now I remembered Avtotehna!!!
They were located in nowdays Slovenia(Ljubljana) and then we were all together in Yugoslavia(until 1991)...
Avtotehna also imported C64, but they had top prices and it was cheaper to ask someone who travels to Austria or Germany to get you one, as my father did when he got me C64 in 1987. !!! Happy memories, happy days of childhood!!!
ORIC NOVA 64 was widely advertised in our local computer magazines back in mid-80's, and I was always wonder what capabilities that computer had... Now I saw your few gameplay videos with your ORIC and it looks like decent 8-bit home computer, maybe even better than Speccy was, but also had much less software and not even close popular as Speccy was back then...

Yes indeed! And there was also the Pravetz 8D in Bulgaria.
The Oric Nova was a rebadged Atmos. The parts were all from the UK. I don't know if Avtohena just imported them in parts or already fully made.
I also own a rare Oric Telestrat, but there is no software for the machine.

Did you know that model ORIC NOVA 64 was manufactured in ex-Yugoslavia in mid 80's?
Now when I saw your video it recall me to those days when I was teenager but then I got my Speccy....
Was that ORIC NOVA 64 computer was some kind of clone of origin British version or what?

Air Terre Mer (Air Land Sea for English speakers) is a three level arcade game released for the Oric 1 and Oric Atmos 48K in 1985 by Cobrasoft. A beautiful title screen starts things off and some of the graphics animation is very nice - puffs of smoke from your tank gun, jet thrust behind your plane and bubbles behind your torpedoes. It's a pleasant game written by Olivier Patouillard.
This run was made on the 24th December 2022 using the a real Oric Atmos 48K. Skill level (Niveau) 1 was played. The score reached was 20,380 points.
Time stamps:
00:30 Lovely title screen.
00:37 Skill level is shown on right hand side of the screen, labelled Niveau. Skill 1 is selected.
00:48 Start of game and a finger dance to the music. Sadly it is almost impossible to read the display during play on a real screen on this level.
02:47 First level finished.
04:09 Runnng low on fuel. Press 'Escape' to enter the refuelling stage - touch the jerry-can!
04:14 Hit by an asteroid, first life lost.
06:12 Tank level completed.
06:24 Second life lost.
06:38 Third life lost.
06:50 Fourth life lost.
06:56 Fifth life lost. Game Over! Final score 20,380.
07:00 High Score table and initials entry.
