The current one I have I got in Japan when on holidays a few years back.
Sadly my original one I had as a kid screen broke.

Was this the orange double-screen one? I never had it but a few of my friends did. Back then we thought these things were amazing - because they were!

Yeah, Dbug knows how to program the Oric pretty well. He's a coder on the demo scene for Oric and Atari ST.

It's a fun little game in a small piece of code - just like the Nintendo originals!

Trying out the Maxduino player with 4K Kong, a tribute to the old Game and Watch games from the eighties. Written by Michael Pointier (Dbug), it was released in 2003 for a 4K minigame competition. Yes, the code takes up less than 4K of RAM.

The game is being played on a real Oric Atmos, loaded in using the Maxduino, a memory-card based replacement for tape players. Very simple to use and you get the real experience - and loading times!

The run was made on the 23rd December 2022 after spending most of the day trying to find an Oric that worked properly. This one was the best I could do - the '0' and 'X' keys don't work, but otherwise it is functioning.

Time stamps:
00:30 Ready to start the game, which ahs loaded from the Maxduino into the Oric Atmos.
00:32 Game start.
00:48 First life lost.
01:21 Second life lost.
03:16 Third life lost.
04:20 Fourth life lost. Game Over! Final score 323 points.
