Manual transmission is quite the sim, L is clutch, R is gas, A is brake, x/y shift.
If you don't shift and use clutch proper the car conks out and needs to be re started. It's worth learning to use the different cars.
Sportster is the only car that comes in automatic. The Roadster and the Speedster are manual only.
Roadster has better handling and Speedster has higher speed.
