Omega Race is a 1981 Asteroids type game from Midway. You are tasked with destroying the training droids in an arena. You can fire, turn and thrust just like Asteroids. You can also bounce off the outer walls and the inner information box. It's a fun variation on the Asteroids / Star Castle genre.

The VIC-20 officially licensed version was released as an 8K cartridge by Commodore in 1982. It was programmed by Andy Finkel (who also did VIC-20 Gorf) and Eric Cotton. It is a spot-on conversion. Gameplay is as good as you can get and this is a nice little shooter even today. Back in the day the critics of time loved it and so did we as players - I remember a friend had it and I still recall the games sounds. Playing it was a nice nostalgia trip.

This run was played using WinVICE, on the 31st July 2022. It was played using the NTSC / 60 fps version. The score reached was 105,750 points.
