Lol ya. Sometimes I have to keep the ps1 on a tilt. Especially if I want it to play fmv and music without skipping.
But other times it works fine. Old tech can be strange. π§ lol
Thx

"Increased my win streak for Very Hard"
0:01 - DISC ERROR
"So I use my water bottle under the system trick to get it going."
I have an old walkman and a portable DVD player with the same issue, if I want them to read discs "especially scratched discs like my MKTrilogy" "which I do play in CD players for its music ;)" they have to be tilted sideways a bit. It must help assist the gears scoot down the laser or something because works every time. The game froze on me 3 times in a row, so I realized it was time to put a tilt on the system. Though some days I don't have to. Depends what mood my PlayStation is in.
Success.. moving on.
0:28 - Mortal Kombat Trilogy disc in system
0:55 - PlayStation π Power On
1:01 - Kontroller - Performance brand
2:01 - select VERY HARD mode
13:59 - Kintaro is my 9th Win
(9 wins) - top left of screen
15:32 - Motaro kills my win streak.
----------the end---------
Just for fun.. I kontinue
So I choose Motaro "a cheap boss character that I never pick because it's kinda cheap"
My Motaro kills A.I. Motaro. Easy Win.
But.. Shao Kahn kills my Motaro.
Kontinue 2...
I choose Sub Zero to kill Kahn.
Success.
I choose Kahns Treasure for MK1 bonus fight and lose to Kano/Rayden team.
End credits begin. POWER OFF.
Thx π
Mortal Kombat Trilogy is a great game, but I think the best version is the N64 port. "at least the NTSC ver"
Fast gameplay with no loading.
But best of all the cheap boss characters are NOT there to select.
That's my main complaint with the PS1 version. It's not cheating to use the boss characters because they are right there for you to choose without codes. But they make the game so easy I have to resist using them. With N64 they don't let you choose them which is a big plus.
Also N64 you can punch people through 3 layers of stages instead of 1, and there's a challenging mode that turns every fight into Endurance fights.
I've thought about getting N64 for this game alone hehe..
And I mentioned NTSC because I hear the PAL N64 MKT has a sloppy feel to it, ppl in PAL regions are better off with PS1 or Saturn MKT, but if in the States the N64 ver is the best. It's the first version I ever played and miss it :)
The N64 dpad is great, and its A B with the yellow C buttons are equivalent to Saturn's 6 face buttons. Making it great for fighters.
I'm not terribly picky so I've been loving it for my PS1. But I do fantasize about having N64 again β€οΈ all for MKT
